Stansted Airport, the UK's number one airport for public transport use, received a further boost today with the launch of a new coach service linking the airport to West London.
The 24 hour service, operated by Orbis Air Link, will offer a daily connection every two hours to the London Underground stations at Hammersmith, Acton and Ealing Broadway.
"This new service provides a valuable connection into the heart of West London providing a round the clock service to our passengers,” said Steve Mills, Stansted Airport’s public transport manager.
“Already 45% of passengers travel to Stansted Airport using public transport – which is a UK leading position and one of the highest figures in Europe. We are looking forward to working in partnership with Orbis Air Link and I’m sure this will help build on our successful and impressive public transport network.”
Prices start from £8 one way with discounts for families and groups. Bookings can be made on-line at www.orbisairlink.co.uk, by telephone 08454 708707. Tickets can also be bought on the day of travel from the coach driver.
Nigel Barry, Orbis Air Link’s managing director said:
"In the current economic climate people are making travel decisions that offer the best value and want to travel with airlines that offer the greatest choice of low fares. We recognise this trend and we’re responding to it with this new service. With the support of BAA Stansted and our agency network we know that this route will be a great success."
