Comiso in Southern Italy is set to become the 20th Italian connection to join Stansted's growing network later today when Ryanair launch its first UK flights to this new destination.
The largest of the Italian Islands, separated from the mainland by the Strait of Messina, Sicily not only benefits from a warm climate year round, but offers visitors an abundance of things to see and do. Stretching sandy beaches are popular with windsurfing and kite surfing enthusiasts, while the gorges and natural caves are ideal for those seeking a bit more adventure.
Sicily is home to world famous Mount Etna, one of the most active volcanoes in the world, and gives visitors access to UNESCO world heritage sites and hot springs dating back to the Roman era.
Flights to Comiso will operate twice a week on Wednesday and Sunday, ideal for week-long stays or extended weekend breaks. Flights depart Stansted at 4:30 pm, returning 11:30 enabling visitors to make the most of their last day on any visit to this popular Italian island.
