The cultural and economic epicentre of Southern Sweden, experience this stylish and multicultural city with holidays to Malmo. With plenty of history and great sites to visit, you’re sure to have a fun-filled time with our Stansted to Malmo holidays. With many centuries worth of heritage as an important fortified port, Malmo has long been a lucrative trade hub. This has led to a diverse population, and with large numbers of foreign inhabitants, the city is the most cosmopolitan in Sweden. Malmo is a wonderful destination to visit, whether you want to go for the warmest weather over summer, or to witness the snowy beauty of winter. If you’re going in summer then take a boat trip from the harbour to see more of the coastline, and sit back in the sunshine on the Ribersborgsstranden beach. Try ice swimming if you’re there over winter, before warming up at Kallbadhuset’s sauna with its stunning views of the Öresund strait. Three squares lie in the heart of the city, Stortorget (Big Square), Lilla torg (Little Square) and Gustav Adolfs torg (Gustav Adolf's Square). Spend some time exploring each of the squares, the first two of which are joined at one corner, and connected to Gustav Adolfs torg by a pedestrianised shopping street. A trip to Malmöhus Castle is an absolute must while you’re in town, which is just to the west of the old town area. An impressive 15th century construction, the castle is nowadays home to a history museum, art museum, aquarium and terrarium. Nearby you’ll find the Fiskehoddorna, a traditional fish market, and the Tekniska och Sjöfartsmuseet (Technology and Maritime Museum). Take a guided walking tour through the city centre, relax in the gardens of the Pildammsparken, or take the kids to the Folkets amusement park with holidays to Malmo from Stansted Airport.
