Compare holidays to Menorca and look forward to spending some time on a gorgeous island that remains relatively untouched. One of Spain’s Balearic islands, it’s much quieter than its neighbours meaning you can enjoy relaxing holidays to Menorca from Stansted.
While Ibiza and Mallorca are known for their vibrant nightlife, you'll find that holidays to Menorca are much more relaxed. Sit back and enjoy the white sand beaches along the stunning coastline, and bask in the warm glow of this lovely Mediterranean destination.
Menorca is not as developed as other Balearic islands which means you'll be able to go on the hunt for your own private little cove or stretch of sand. Some bays can only be reached by boat or by swimming round to them, so it’s perfect if you’re feeling adventurous. The south coast has sweeping pale sands, while to the north you'll find the beaches are red and rugged.
The whole of Menorca is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, which has helped it retain its unspoilt nature. Go hiking through the wetlands of the Parc Natural S’Albufera d’es Grau, or seek out the prehistoric monuments that are littered around the island. The monuments date back at least 2,000 years and have an air of mystery about them that is still not fully understood to this day.
At either end of the island you'll find the cities of Mahon, which is the capital, and Ciutadella. Both have lovely harbours and great bars and restaurants that overlook them. La Mola Fortress looks down over Mahon’s harbour, while Ciutadella has the Museo Municipal which charts the city’s history through archaeological finds from as far back as prehistoric times.
For some family fun, head to Castillo Menorca which has a swimming pool, mini golf and even a go-kart track. Alternatively, splash around at the popular Aquarock waterpark. Scale the heights of tallest point Monte Toro for great views and snorkel in the warm seas to your heart’s content.
