Holidays to Paphos are ideal for relaxing on the beach and soaking up the very best of the Cypriot weather. Lying in the southwest of the island, there’s plenty more besides the sands to enjoy with holidays to Paphos from Stansted. The area’s got lots of great history to get stuck into, starting with Aphrodite’s Rock which is just off the main beach. According to legend, this was where the ancient Greek goddess of love was born and you should swim around it three times if you are on the hunt for eternal beauty. There’s also a temple near the harbour that is dedicated to Aphrodite, who was an important part of life in Cyprus. Paphos Castle resides at the edge of the harbour while the nearby Paphos Archaeological Park plays host to the House of Dionysius and the Tombs of the King. Hike along the rugged Akamas Peninsula as you explore the surrounding area, which serves up quiet bays with dry stone cliffs plunging down into crystal clear waters. If you’re feeling adventurous then you can try descending down into an isolated cove for some private relaxation in the sands. Things will be a bit less private but rewarding nonetheless if you’re going to the Aphrodite Waterpark. Especially great for kids, there’s plenty of slides and rides to get stuck into as you soak up the lovely sunshine. A few miles out of town is the Eagle Mountain Ranch where things are a bit more peaceful and you’ll find pony trekking. Be as active or as idle as you wish with holidays to Paphos from Stansted Airport.
