In 2007, we worked to further improve security standards at the airport. We invested in more advanced x-ray technology in our central search area, we also increased the number of security lanes to improve our service to passengers.

Throughout the year we continued to encourage passengers and staff to use public transport and we were pleased to report a number of successes in this area. Of these, we were particularly pleased to see the proportion of our passengers using public transport to make journeys to and from the airport increase to over 44% - the highest of any major UK airport.
