In 2008, we will be increasing our total number of security lanes from 17 to 18, plus four overflow lanes for very busy periods. New technology in all 18 lanes should enable us to have a more consistent flow of passengers in the future.

We will also be improving the environment in the departures security area by improving signs, introducing automated passenger announcements and introducing coloured zones (on floors and walls) to differentiate the different stages of security.

In the arrivals area, our terminal extension will open in 2008, increasing the baggage claim area and creating room for extra passport desks. There are also plans to trial e-passport gates – working with the UK Border Agency.
