Parking
For security reasons the Blue Badge scheme does not operate on the Stansted Airport road system. Unattended vehicles will be towed away by the police and a fine must be paid in order to retrieve such vehicles. Traffic wardens also patrol all areas.
General information about Stansted car parking
Short Stay Car Parks- Car park prices are displayed clearly at the car park entrances.
- Blue Badge parking is available in Red, Orange, Green, Fast Track and 15 Minute Pick Up car parks, all next to the terminal.
- Should you require a wheelchair or assistance, please use the help point in the car park.
- If you wish to park in the blue badge space but need to take your badge abroad, please contact the car park operator via the help button on the entry barrier.
- You can pay for car park tickets at the automatic payment machines in each car park, before returning to your car. You can also pay by credit card at the exit barrier.

The Mid Stay Car Park is just over a mile from the terminal building. All transfer coaches are free of charge and wheelchair-accessible. Allow up to 20 minutes to transfer to the terminal.
Payment is simple. If you have pre-booked, your number plate will be recognised at the entry barrier. The machine should then automatically present a ticket and the barrier will rise when you take this ticket (this becomes your parking ticket). On leaving the car park, enter your parking ticket into the machine at any exit lane and the barrier will rise.
If the machine does not present a ticket you should then press the button on the machine, take the ticket presented (your parking ticket) and the entry barrier will rise. On leaving the car park, use any of the exit barriers, ensuring you have your pre-booked reference number available. Press the intercom button for assistance. The operator will then raise the barrier.
If you have not pre-booked, press the button on the machine at the entry barrier, take the ticket (your parking ticket) and the barrier will rise. On leaving the car park, enter your ticket into any of the automated exit barriers followed by your credit/debit card. The correct amount will be deducted and the barrier will rise. Alternatively, you may pay in cash by exiting through the cashier lane and handing your ticket to the cashier, who will take payment.
A cashier is on duty 24 hours a day should you need assistance.
Blue Badge parking spaces are situated close to the bus pick-up shelter in L Zone. Signs within the car park will direct you to this zone. All shelters are fitted with help points, which can be used to call for assistance. On arrival at the terminal, the driver or forecourt marshal will assist you from the coach if required. Help phones are situated outside each of the revolving entry doors at the terminal should you require a wheelchair or further assistance. On your return, the driver or forecourt marshal will, if required, assist you on to the coach back to the Mid Stay Car Park.
Mobility scooters up to a maximum of 700mm by 1,200mm are allowed on board the courtesy buses, but having manoeuvred into the wheelchair space passengers will be asked to transfer to a seat during the journey.
Long Stay Car ParkThe Long Stay Car Park is approximately three miles from the terminal. Transfer coaches are free of charge and wheelchair-accessible. Allow up to 45 minutes to transfer to the terminal.

Assistance is available 24 hours a day by pressing the help button on the entry and exit machines.
Blue Badge parking is available in Zone Q. All 130 spaces have been designed with safe manoeuvring areas to the side and rear. The Zone Q bus shelter is conveniently located and has an easy access ramp for wheelchair users. If you're using the Blue Badge bays, press the help button in the bus shelter and notify the controller that you require a bus to the terminal. The next available vehicle will be dispatched.
Users of these bays usually board the transfer bus before other passengers and are given seating priority and dedicated wheelchair points on board. On boarding the bus and arrival at the terminal, the driver or forecourt marshal will provide assistance if required. Help phones are situated outside each of the revolving entry doors at the terminal should you require a wheelchair or further assistance. On your return the driver or forecourt marshal will, if required, assist you on to the bus back to Zone Q in the Long Stay Car Park.
