Germanwings
Germanwings has announced a new twice-daily service from Stansted to Hanover, in addition to its Stansted-Cologne and Stansted-Stuttgart routes. Although much of Hanover was destroyed in the Second World War, medieval highlights remain, particularly in the Old Town. Market Place, with its distinctive timbered buildings, and 15th-century Old Town Hall are definite 'musts' for the visitor. Elsewhere, the city offers elegant parkland and plenty of interesting museums and galleries.

Historic and visually stunning yet little known or visited, the Lithuanian capital is a real gem just waiting to be discovered. The old core of this green metropolis is a baroque old town, fringed by the Vilnia and Neris rivers, dotted with parks and church spires. Four new easyJet routes have been announced from Stansted, starting mid-May. The new routes are Bodrum and Dalaman in Turkey and Dubrovnik and Split in Croatia. The airline also introduces a new daily service to Cagliari in Sardinia on 28 March.
