Consultation

Stansted airport terminalPublic consultation on our Generation 1 development

The publication in July 2005 of our Generation 1 consultation document Growing Stansted Airport on the Existing Runway was the start of an extensive public consultation.

The consultation document presented our proposals on how we intend to develop the airport, in line with Government aviation policy, on the existing runway.

We invited the views and opinions of as many people and organisations as possible. We are grateful to the many hundreds of people who took the time to write to us, visit our exhibitions, read our literature and who visited us online.

All responses to the consultation document were carefully considered and taken into account and a Report of Consultation was published.

This describes the consultation process up to the submission of the planning application in April 2006. Uttlesford District Council, as the local planning authority undertook formal consultation in their own right on the application and the accompanying Environmental Statement which was prepared and submitted by BAA.
