Public Inquiry

Endeavour House, Stansted Airport

A public inquiry - on our application to allow an increase in the use of the existing runway at Stansted Airport - was held between 30 May and 19 October 2007 at Endeavour House, Stansted Airport. The application asks to have the current limit of 25 million passengers per year at Stansted raised to a new cap of 35 million passengers per year.

Currently, Stansted Airport serves over 23 million passengers annually with the limit of 35 million passengers expected to be reached around 2015. The Inquiry Inspector will now aim to give his report to the Government by the end of 2007.

This section of our Future website features information on the background to, and process of, the inquiry and many of the documents that relate to it. These documents include BAA's closing submission to the inquiry which summarises our case to the inspector.

The inquiry's scope does not include plans for a second runway at Stansted Airport. More detail on this proposal can be found in the 'Second runway' section of this website.
