Future of Air Transport White Paper (2003)

The Future of Air Transport White Paper published by the Government in 2003 outlines the strategic policy framework that drives air transport including the Stansted Generation2 project. It sets out a sustainable long-term strategy for the development of air travel to 2030, and identifies Stansted as the location for the first of two new runways to be built in the South East. The second to be at Heathrow subject to strict environmental conditions being met.
