Ground Noise (Vol. 10)

Ground noise is defined as any airport or airport related noise other than that generated by aircraft in flight or
taking off or landing, which is considered separately in Volume 3 (Air Noise).

This volume assesses the likely significant effects of aircraft taxiing and APU noise and construction noise generated by the second runway development. The assessment of airport related road traffic in this volume includes the contributions made by the road junctions project.

The cumulative effects of construction noise from the second runway project, rail project and road junctions project and road traffic noise from the second runway project and road junctions project are considered in Volume 17 (Cumulative Effects Assessment).
