Economic Impact Report

BAA has submitted a series of planning applications and supporting documents for the expansion of Stansted Airport, known as the Generation 2 project, to Uttlesford District Council (the local planning authority). These documents deal with many matters and in particular address a wide range of planning and environment issues. In addition to these documents, BAA is carrying out further work to report on the economic impact of the proposed development.

This work will address issues primarily in monetary terms for economic, environmental and social impacts and these effects will be identified on a national, regional and local basis.

A consultation report explaining the scope and methodology of the economic impact work can be found below.

BAA is keen to seek your views on this approach and the consultation is open until the end of July 2008. All responses should be sent to the BAA Stansted Communications Department (please see the 'Contact Us' section of this website for full details), marked 'G2 Economics', to be received no later than Thursday 31 July 2008.

Following the close of the consultation period, BAA will then address the issues raised and prepare and publish an economic impact report.
