Overview
This corporate responsibility report describes BAA London Stansted’s progress during the 2006/07 financial year on environmental, economic and social performance. Future reporting will cover each calendar year, in line with Ferrovial, our new owners, reporting cycle.
For BAA London Stansted, corporate responsibility defines how we manage our business to enhance the positive and minimise the negative impacts of our activities. We want to be transparent, and demonstrate how we have performed against our social, economic and environmental targets.
The report explains how we have engaged with local communities and stakeholders; addresses how we’ve performed on issues such as noise, air quality, energy emissions, surface transport, water and waste management; and describes how we manage and drive our business forward.
Annual targets are set and agreed by the managing director and Stansted Airport Sustainability Board, taking into consideration issues such as past performance, stakeholder interests, long term business objectives, our contribution to corporate objectives and any anticipated changes, for example new regulations.
Agreed targets are then presented to BAA Limited for final agreement, and in some cases are set as business targets and incorporated into personal targets and bonus systems.
A selection of our environmental reporting is subject to independent assurance by Environmental Resources Management Limited (ERM) to ensure that we provide a complete and accurate picture of our performance.
BAA Limited, our parent company, publishes a corporate responsibility report which details the group approach and policies; and an annual review which contains our operating and financial performance. Available at:
