The airport monitors and records all flight track and noise data regardless of whether we have received a complaint from a member of the public or not. If we find that an aircraft has broken Department for Transport (DfT) regulations, the airport will investigate further and will contact the airline concerned. In the event of an aircraft flying off track, we will also contact the local Air Traffic Control services to see if there was a specific reason for the track deviation.
More and more people are discovering the benefits of our free self-service investigation service known as WebTrak. Webtrak is an internet-based service that allows members of the public to view the tracks and heights of all fixed wing aircraft movements at London Stansted. This service can also be used to log a complaint. Please note that there is a 24 hour delay on the aircraft track data provided via Webtrak.
Contacting the Noise Team
If you want to know more about noise from planes or the airport, or perhaps have a specific complaint, then please contact our Noise Communications Team.
The Noise Communications Team is there to provide information to the public and to respond to any complaint or enquiry you might have.
They monitor the noise levels and track-keeping of all departing aircraft. They can also give information about flight paths, for example, to prospective home-buyers.
They also provide complaints statistics to the airport’s independent Consultative Committee, which is made up of local councillors, airlines, passenger and pressure groups.
