The scheme is no longer available for commercial use. The new arrangements were agreed in partnership with the Stansted Airport Consultative Committee – an independent body comprising of elected representatives from neighbouring Local Authorities, user groups, the local community and on-airport businesses.

A: All residents living within a 5 mile radius of Stansted Airport will pay £0.50 for up to 10 mins and £0.50 per minute thereafter. All residents living within a 5 - 10 mile radius of Stansted Airport will pay £1 for up to 10 mins and £1 per minute thereafter.

Q: Once I've registered how will the scheme work?
A: You will be sent a discount card. Express Set Down is a ticketless system, using Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology to read entry/exit times and to calculate duration of stay. Discount scheme members will simply insert the discount card at the exit barrier, the discount will then be applied and you can make your reduced payment to exit.
Q: Do I need to re-apply for the new Express Set Down scheme?
A: If you have applied for the scheme which is in effect as of 1st June 2015 and you live within 5 mile radius, you will automatically be sent a new discount card. If you have applied for the scheme which is in effect as of 1st June 2015 and you live within 5 -10 mile radius, you do not need to do anything as you are not affected by the changes.
