Flying to Europe? Find out more about the new Entry and Exit System (EES)
The EU has introduced a new Entry/Exit System (EES) for UK and other non-EU nationals travelling for short stays.
EES is an automated system that will require travellers to register at the border by scanning their passport and having their fingerprints and photograph taken.
EES is designed to improve border security within the EU and its neighbouring countries and reduce illegal migration in the Schengen area. It will automate border control checks to help the EU stop visitors overstaying.
