Rzeszow map

The relatively small size of Rzeszów means hotel accommodation is thin on the ground, but there are still some gems here, all reasonably priced. If you want a treat, book a room at the lavish Grand Hotel Rzeszów (Dymnickiego 1A), a few minutes from the centre, or equally luxurious newcomer Hotel Bristol (Rynek 20-23), where the rooms are light and spacious. At the lower end of the budget is slightly out-of-town Hotel Hetman (Langiewicza 29B), where rooms are modest but pleasant. Those who want all the mod-cons might like Hotel Rzeszów (Józefa Pi?sudskiego 44), which has a spa and health club and is attached to a brand new shopping centre.

Shopping malls form the backbone of Rzezsów’s retail offering, with the largest of these the Millenium Hall (Kopisto 1), close to the city centre. There are often large screens showing sport or music events outside to complement the hunt for the latest fashions. For Polish brands and lower prices head to the Full Market (Rejtana 53), or to the character-rich streets of Grunwaldzka, 3 Maja and Kościuszki in the Old Town for crafts, antiques and Polish souvenirs.

If you're a fan of Da Vinci, head to the Restauracja Da Vinci (Matejki 4) and enjoy the Italian fare on offer in a setting adorned with the artist’s work. If you're after cheap beer and a good time head to Irish pub Galway (3 Maja 8), one of many decent bars in the city for a tipple.
