Train to Manchester Airport

With around 10 million passengers travelling to and from Birmingham Airport every year, it’s no surprise that they have 7 huge carparks – each offering a slightly different customer experience. If you’re planning a visit to the airport, our parking partners would like to offer a little advice to make sure you get the best space.

Parking at Birmingham Airport

Birmingham Airport offers a fantastic drop-off service with a dedicated Drop & Go area near the terminal doors. It’s completely free to stay in the Drop & Go area for up to 30 minutes, however, the charges can rise steeply after that. If you want to get even closer to the terminal doors, you can pay to use the Premium Set Down carpark adjacent to the terminal entrance. Picking up passengers is easy too, simply book a space in short-stay Carparks 1, 2 or 3 and you’re all set.

If you’re looking to meet friends and family at the airport, or just use the wide range of services available, then Carparks 1,2 and 3 are the perfect choices. Each of the secure carparks offers reasonable prices for short-stay visits and are close to the airport.

Birmingham Airport has a few different long-term parking services. Carparks 1,2 and 3 each have long-term parking areas but they can be more expensive due to their location near the terminal. Those looking to save a little extra might want to consider Carpark 5 which is a 10 minute walk from the terminal, or the most cost-effective Carpark 7 which is around 15 minutes from the terminal on foot.

Located next to Carpark 3, the valet parking service at Birmingham airport makes for the perfect start to any holiday. Simply pull up and indulge in the full VIP treatment as a professional valet drives your car to a secure carpark. When you return, notify the valet service and they’ll have your vehicle ready for you as you exit the terminal.

Birmingham Airport has a single terminal, so there’s no need to worry about which carpark to use as they all have direct travel links to the same entrance.

While you can drive up and pay for parking in any of the 7 carparks, Birmingham Airport is extremely busy and often runs out of space in several of its carparks. Prices are higher on the day so you can get a better deal and a guarantee of a space by pre-booking.

Birmingham Airport gives Blue Badge Holders a full hour of parking for free, offering plenty of time to get in or out of your vehicle and seek any assistance you require. To get your free hour of parking simply park as normal on the day and then take your Blue Budge to the NCP Customer Service Office where you’ll be refunded an hour of parking.

  • Arrive early: If you’re travelling to Europe, BHX advises that you leave a minimum of two hours between your arrival and your flight. Long-haul flights require at least 3 hours as the queues can be particularly long.

  • Book a hotel: There are two on-site hotels, so it’s a good idea to book in at a hotel if you have a morning flight and would like to avoid any delays.

  • Make the most of Drop & Go: The Drop & Go section gives you 30 minutes of free parking near the terminal entrance, make sure to use all the time you’re given, instead of rushing like you might at other airports.
