• Pick up & Drop-off

  If you’re visiting to pick-up or drop-off friends and family, it’s easy to take your passengers to the doors of the terminal with dedicated drop-off sections on the lower levels of both buildings. However, if you want a little more time with your nearest and dearest before they set off, you may want to consider the airport’s options for slightly longer stays. There are both short-stay carparks, within a 5 minute walk away from the terminal entrance, and long-stay carparks, with regular shuttles to the terminals as well as free parking for up to 2 hours.

• Short-stay Parking

  For those parking close to the airport for anything from a few minutes to a couple of hours, the short-stay carpark is a great choice as there’s no minimum stay. The short-stay parking areas are within 5 minutes of the doors of each of Gatwick’s terminals and completely undercover. There are regular security patrols and CCTV operating around the clock to protect your vehicle.

  As the airport is so big, each carpark is in its own post code:

  South Terminal short-stay parking (car park 3 (orange)): RH6 0LL

  North Terminal short-stay parking (car park 5): RH6 0PJ

• Long-stay Parking

  Those looking to keep cost to a minimum while storing their car at the airport will want to consider long-stay parking. Buses run every 10-15 minutes day and night between the parking areas and the terminals. Shuttle buses run to both terminals from every carpark so you aren’t restricted by your airline.

• Do I Need to Pre-book Parking?

  Even though it is possible to drive up and park for short stays if spaces are available, the airport can only guarantee you’ll get a space if you book at least 24 hours before you arrive so it is recommended to book beforehand.

• Blue Badge Holders

  While there are no discounts for Blue Badge holders, every carpark has a dedicated Blue Badge section which is closer to the terminal doors or shuttle bus. You don’t need to leave your Blue Badge in the car while you’re away, just show it to the attendant before leaving the carpark.

• Helpful Hints
  • Use the long-stay carparks for pick-up and drop-off: It’s completely free to drop-off and collect your passengers from the long-stay carpark, and they can catch a shuttle directly to their terminal.
  • Park at either terminal: Save money by checking the parking at the opposite terminal to the one you require as shuttle buses run between either terminal.
  • Rush-hour traffic around London Gatwick: If you’re hoping to avoid traffic then it’s worth remembering that the roads are most congested between 6am-12pm so make sure to avoid journeys around this time.
