Heathrow Airport Parking

Make sure you book the right parking at London's Heathrow Airport

Train to Manchester Airport

Heathrow Airport is the busiest airport in Europe, with almost 100 million passengers travelling through it every year. Each of the 4 terminals see a high volume of passengers, making parking difficult. If you’re planning a trip to Heathrow our parking partners have a few tips to help avoid any parking problems.

UK Airport Parking at Heathrow

While dropping-off is a breeze at Heathrow, thanks to dedicated free drop-off points near the entrance to each terminal, it can be much harder to pick-up friends and family as there are no dedicated areas. Heathrow Airport suggest that those picking up friends and family should book spaces in the short-stay parking near the terminal but this can prove costly. If you want to avoid any charges, you can pick-up in the long-stay carparks for free.

Apart from the drop-off areas, the only other short-stay parking at Heathrow is found near the entrance of each terminal. These short-stay carparks are regularly patrolled making them a secure option. However, if you’re planning to leave your car longer than 24 hours it’s advisable to use the much more cost-effective long-stay carparks.

The secure long-stay parking at Heathrow is the perfect choice for anyone looking to store their vehicle while they’re away without running up a large bill. Regular shuttle buses run throughout the day and night to each terminal so there’s no need to worry about being in the right carpark for your terminal.

Add a touch of luxury to your trip by pre-booking Heathrow Airport’s Meet & Greet or valet services. The services are virtually the same, with the option to add in a wash and wax with the valet package. Simply drop-off your keys with a professional valet on the day of your departure and they’ll store your vehicle until you notify them of your return - when they’ll meet you with your car as you exit the airport.

It’s extremely difficult to find your ideal parking space without pre-booking due to Heathrow’s incredible footfall. The only way to be sure you’ll get the best space at the best price is to pre-book.

  • Arrive early: Getting through security quickly can be difficult at Heathrow Airport as the terminals can expect up to 207,000 visitors every day. Due to the congestion around security, Heathrow Airport recommends that you arrive at least 2 hours 30 minutes before your departure.

  • Special Events: Heathrow Airport often plays host to many local festivals and events, making it a good idea to check if there’s anything happening at the airport on your day of travel. It’s a great way to kick-start your holiday and keep the kids entertained.

  • Check your vehicle: Before finalising your parking booking, double check that your car will fit in the carpark as some of the multi-storey carparks have low ceilings, especially Terminal 4’s multi-storey carpark which has a maximum height of 2m.
