Enchanting visitors with its bags of charm
Home to one of France’s oldest universities, the city of Poitiers may not be the biggest city in France, but that certainly isn’t holding it back. In addition to a lively social scene, including regular musical festivals and even a traditional Scottish Highland Games, Poitiers will enchant visitors with its bags of charm, beautifully preserved Romanesque churches and range of quirky independent shopping boutiques that are par excellent.
A picturesque town that boasts an array of magnificent religious architecture, you can compare flights from Stansted to Poitiers and look forward to holidaying in west-central France. Set on the banks of the Clain River in the Vienne department, air travel barely gets much cheaper than some of the London to Poitiers flights available, with the journey taking just an hour and a half. There are no public transportation links available from the airport, leaving taxis and rental cars as the most popular means for completing an onward journey.
